4 Days Overland Journey from the Royal Town to the new Capital City

Day 1: Luang Prabang – Vang Vieng By Train [–, –]

We board the afternoon Train leaving Luang Prabang to the scenic small town of Vang Vieng. This is a place of a dreamlike landscape of bizarre limestone mountain peaks and scenic cliffs with the Nam Song River bisecting the town. On arrival, we are transferred to our hotel with the rest of the day at our own leisure. Dinner is at leisure on own account Overnight in Vang Vieng

Day 2: Vang Vieng – Half Day Tour And Afternoon Free [B,–, –]

At 8am, we drive by Tuk Tuk and guide, takes about 40 minute-drive out of town and start walking through rice paddies on the other side of the river, passing rich fields and continue to Ban Vieng Sa Mai the Khamu Ethnic Minority Villages, where you explore the Villages and you would have a chance to see an old man who still loves his former job producing knife for his daily income by using techniques that have been used for Generations and heading one of the Khmu families where you will be welcoming a typical Khmu the local rice wine, "Lao Hai" Afternoon is free at leisure Meals at leisure on own account Overnight in Vang Vieng

Day 3: Vang Vieng – Vientiane By Train– City Tour [B,–, –]

We jump on the mid-day Train (C91 at 13:32-14:25, time is subject to change without prior notice) to Vientiane, Laos’ charming capital city and arrive one hour later. Upon arrival take a short drive to the city center and stop at That Luang, which is considered to be the most revered shrine in Laos with its golden stupa in a characteristic banana flower shape. We then continue to Patuxay which translates to “Victory Gate” is a massive concrete monument with a wide avenue leading to it similar in style to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France. It was built in the 1960’s as a memorial for those who gave their lives serving their country in several wars. Finally, we proceed to Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple of the town that is still in its original form. The temple was built in 1820 near the Royal Palace in the center of town by King Anouvong, the last King of Vientiane. It is one of the very few temples that survived the destruction that came with the Siamese army that looted and burnt the city in 1827. Resume to the bank of the Mekong River for sunset and transfer to your hotel. Meals are at leisure on own account. Overnight in Vientiane

Day 4: Vientiane – Departure [B]
