Día 1: Controguerra

You will discover a unique and authentic experience, one that brings you back to the slow and profound rhythm of nature. During this horseback trekking adventure you will enter a traditional world shaped by respect for animals, rural heritage, and life in the open air. Day after day, you will get closer to the life of a cattle herder, learning to understand the horses, their movements and their language, while building a special bond with them.
You will share the journey with the herd and your fellow riders, experiencing moments of cooperation, effort and wonder that make this adventure truly intense and genuine. Your days will be marked by the steady rhythm of the horses’ steps, the wild landscapes of Abruzzo, and the deep sense of freedom that only life on horseback can offer.
This journey will allow you to fully immerse yourself in an extraordinary adventure: you will not simply be a traveler, but part of the herd, learning to move like a true rider and to experience nature in a direct and meaningful way.

Arrival on your own at the equestrian center in Controguerra (TE) by 5:00 pm (or transfer from the train station available on request at extra cost). Welcome aperitif and introduction to the staff, horse assignment, and time to get familiar with your horse and the tack.
Accommodation at the hotel, dinner with the staff, presentation of the activities for the following day, overnight stay.

Día 2:

CONTROGUERRA (B/L/D)
Breakfast at the hotel followed by a meeting at the riding center, preparation of the horses and departure on horseback to begin working with the cattle. Lunch at a local farmhouse (agriturismo), followed by an afternoon back in the saddle continuing the activities.
Return to the riding center, care of the horses.
Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Día 3:

CONTROGUERRA (B/L/D)
Breakfast at the hotel and meeting at the riding center, preparation of the horses and departure for the morning activities.
Return to the riding center around 1:00 pm and individual departure (or transfer available on request).

The itinerary described above should be considered indicative. It may be subject to changes due to weather conditions or circumstances beyond our control.
It is also possible to arrive on Thursday at 5:00 pm (dinner, riding activities and meals included).

Horses: Mixed breeds, including Murgese and Maremmano horses. Calm, reliable and well accustomed to the proposed routes.
Riding time: 1 full day on horseback + 2 half days.
A good riding level is required, with confidence at all three gaits and the ability to manage a horse in open spaces.
What to bring:
Riding clothes, protective helmet, waist pack, water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent, windproof jacket.
Minimum age: 16 years

Type: Equestrian holiday with overnight stays in a hotel.

ACCOMMODATION
2 overnight stays at Hotel Millepini (or similar) in Ovindoli. Located at 1,420 meters above sea level, it is surrounded by a beautiful conifer forest.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable and all include:
two single beds or one double bed, shower or bathtub, full linen and hairdryer, air conditioning, telephone and TV, free safe deposit service. Half of the rooms offer a panoramic view of the forest.
Full board from dinner on Day 1 to lunch on Day 3.
